Unable to turn of verse reference

I have been using this app for a number of years, just a few days ago, in the "Due" section, the verse reference is showing up together with the topic even when only the topic is selected in the setting. I am unable to turn off the verse reference despite trying everything in the setting. Would appreciate any help to turn of verse reference.

Thanks for reporting this. The behavior depends on how you start the review:

Tapping on a verse opens it in a preview mode that always shows all information (reference, topic, tags, image). This is by design — it's meant for quickly looking up a verse.
Tapping the review button at the bottom starts a review session where hints are gradually revealed based on your settings. With "Learning by Topic" turned on and "Learn with Reference" turned off, you'll see only the topic on the front of the flashcard.

If you'd like to start the review from a specific verse, tap on its badge (the small square on the left) to select it, then tap the review button.

The documentation has been updated to make this clearer.

I had done all that you had suggested but the reference is still showing in my Due mode. My learning by Topic is turned on but the Learn with Reference still shows in my Due mode. I have been using the apps for many years, only recently this happened. Appreciate any help.

Learn with reference should be ON (= reference gets practised, too).

The naming can be misleading. Suggestions for label improvement are welcome.

I tried setting both reference and topic on, however when I tap on the Due verses, the reference and topic still showed up together.

My setting is exactly to your screen shot but the reference still show up together with the topic. It is not turning off.

Can you please create a screen recording video like mine with the same sequence? If possible make the taps on the screen visible.
That would help me to analyse the issue.

Haroldbak Thank you very much for creating the screen recording! Unfortunately, it says, album is empty. This might be due to a missing permission. Could you please either add the permission (make the link public or similar) or try to send the video to support@remem.me?

All is well after reviewing your video again. I realise that I have to click on the bottom flash cards icon for the flash cards without reference. I thought previously I need to click on the verses to start without the reference. I must be getting old. Thank you for your help and patience.
