Select wrong verses while listening to them.

Hi.

First of all amazing app. Thank you. I primary use Listen to the verses in sequence while washing dishes, lying in bed at nigh, working in the garden etc. I actually cannot wait to go and wash dishes, because it is my Memorize Verses time.

One thing that would be nice to have the ability to set click on a verse. While the play feature is active... Voice speaking to mark I do not know this verse correctly yet.

Example:
I listen to the verses in sequence. If I have any one wrong I just click it somewhere and it get's marked. Once it went through the whole for loop. Let's say 80 verses... the next time around it will only play the marked verses (Let's say 5), skipping the unmarked ones. Thus helping me to just practice the ones I failed to pass. When I go to another menu this can be unchecked automatically.

Just an idea for a possible addition.

I think what you're describing here is essentially a review session done by audio, and that's a great idea.

In Remember Me, "I didn't recall that one correctly" already has a meaning: in a normal flashcard review, swiping a card to the left marks it wrong and resets its level to 0, which brings it back for review sooner and more often — that's the spaced-repetition engine doing its job. What you're asking for is to do that same thing hands-free while listening: hear a verse, and if you didn't get it, tap it (or press a headphone button) to mark it as not recalled correctly.

That isn't possible during audio playback today, and I've added it to the list. It ties in with your other two threads — together they amount to running a real review, in both directions, by audio.

One thing I'd like to get right before building it: when you mark a verse as missed, do you want it to count as a failed review — i.e. reset that verse's level so the app keeps bringing it back to you over the next days (proper spaced repetition) — or did you mean just a quick "replay the ones I missed right now" within the same session, with no lasting effect?

(For reference, so you don't go hunting: tapping a verse's badge in the list only sets a starting point for playback, and it clears when playback begins — so that isn't this.)

After I exit the session everything the wrongs one selection are gone. Nothing have to be saved or part of the rest of the mechanics and statistics.)

Currently I do the following, when I get a verse wrong I, press stop, click the verse and change the tag to "Memory Verses Failed". All this done with my pinkie. After I listened to the complete list. I load the Verses Failed by tag and listen to them only. After I am done with them I move them back to my Memory Verse list by setting their tags back.

I always go through the whole list day by day. Sometimes I would just randomize it, maybe go alphabetically or by date. Depending how I feel the day - It feels like you can anticipate the next verse if you do not do it. But every time I start from the top, never from a specific point.

A more automated way would reduce the time to tweak the tags every time. But at least it is a way to do it.

As a fellow software developer (C#, Java) on my side, I really appreciate the hard work and quality that was put into this. Made a huge difference.

Before the app I saved pictures in a folder on my phone. Then I would scroll with my finger. Keeping the reference closed with my finger (always at the bottom) if I wanted to check references and hiding the top if I wanted to do the inverse. The app is just so much better.

Picking up on this thread (and the related ones about adding a recall gap and changing the play order), I want to float a slightly different idea and hear your gut reaction.

The common thread across all three requests is really: "let me actively test myself, hands-free, while my hands are busy." Right now you're cleverly bending the audio player to do that. We're weighing building it properly into the player — but there's also a different route that's only become possible recently, and I'd love your take.

What if your AI assistant could quiz you?

More and more people already talk to an AI assistant day to day (ChatGPT's voice mode, Claude, and so on). We can now connect your Remember Me verses to one of these assistants and let it run the review as a back-and-forth — genuinely hands-free, no buttons at all. It would sound something like:

You: Let's review my due verses.
Assistant: Sure — first one, Romans 12:2.
You: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world…" …I've lost the rest.
Assistant: Close! It carries on "…but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Want me to bring that one back at the end?
You: Yes please. Next one.

Because it can actually hear you, it answers a lot of what you've been asking for at once: it waits while you recite (no fixed delay to tune), it'll go reference→verse or verse→reference just because you ask, and you never have to flag a missed verse — you just say "missed that one" and it loops it back around.

This is still early thinking out loud, not an announcement — your feedback would genuinely shape it:

Hi the AI part would be a nice addition. But that would be more for a Major update. Would see it as a separate feature, that I can switch on or off. (Not default like you have with the Google Browser now). I would use the Non AI feature as the primary...

Would be weird when working in the garden, washing dishes etc. chatting, to the phone that is in my pocket for instance while family at home.. (Speaking loud enough) I would prefer a just automated, in silence , just listening and saying it in my mind. For instance lying in bed at night, my wife would not sleep if I go, "Ok next verse please".

I my case "working from home","homeschooling kids"... I would go for the Non-AI - no chatting mode. Me working in the garage alone - maybe the AI mode.

I never use the voice assistant myself, just normal AI features when asking question, but then using my keypad directly
The AI also does not detect correctly always. I speak Afrikaans, so my English are not always 100% correct for the AI to understand. For instance the Voices reading a verse are struggling to say a very low sample of the King James English Words, but I just fix that part in my head. (Not AI, but trying to give an example on where dialect, culture etc. may play a role using AI)

Everything gets connected. Privacy may be a issue for some. You can for instance make predictions then - this person memorized a lot of scripture that is about hope. There is a chance that he has depression - using AI algorithms. Building profiles etc. The fact that you could use you application offline - was one of the big things that gave the program bonus - points. I am not reliant on the internet. If the AI is offline or the internet the application can still work.

(The way how Duck-Duck Go anonymize the call to the AI via a VPN maybe a great security feature). But I know there are limits on how many questions you can ask before paying.) .

Both sometimes when speaking to someone, you know the verse, want to show him, then you forgot the reference.
